14 May - Porterhouse, caramelised onions and curried baked Cauliflower

Just because we still had steak leftover from yesterday...
So I caramelised some onions and baked a cauliflower that has been dusted with spices. Curried spices.Yummy spices.

13 May - Steak & Vegies, Wessex Bacon Toastie, Pandan Cupcake

Wessex smoked bacon. Absolutely delicious but is it worth $18 for 300gm?
I'm not sure I'd pay that much again for it... but it was damned good!

Fennel salsa, wessex bacon, cheese and spring onions

Porterhouse, roasted fennel, carrots and potatoes and beans

12 May - Roast Giant Potatoes, Pandan Cupcakes

2 words: Roast. Potatoes.

That is all that need be said.

Add another word: Speck.
The world is a wonderful place with these 3 words in it :)

Because we love pandan cupcakes so much, the wonderful Miss T made some for us. Tastes as good as it looks!

11 May - Leftover Night! Spinach Triangle, Bruny Cheese

This is our, "oh, I really can't be bothered cooking dinner" dinner

Ok, so it's a bit of a weird combo... rice with spinach and cheese filo? With century egg and stir fried cabbage and xo sauce???
Well.... as asians can eat anything in any combination. Its a gift.

10 May - Vegie Pasta

Easy dinner tonight again.
We're getting exhausted and lazy.... and so easy dinners are now de rigueur

9 May - Chicken Rib Fajitas

ok, so I thought I was defrosting some chicken thigh or chicken breast and the plan was to do fajitas, except what I had defrosted was instead chicken ribs... uh-oh!

Well, I just had to forge ahead with the plans... curried flavoured chicken ribs, and strip the meat off the bone to fill the tortillas... it actually worked out quite well :)

Thank goodness for that!

8 May - Baked Trout, Stuffed Tomatoes and Bruny Cheese

Stuffed tomatoes, baked rainbow trout and the most awesome Bruny Island cheeses!

Stuffed with risoni, sourdough breadcrumbs, nuts and mince.. yum.

Ok, so from top left: The Saint, Nanna's Undies (lavender infused), whisky washed rind and a slow aged Tom. Very very very selection... except for the Nanna's... I'm not sure about lavender flavoured cheese.

A perfectly melty Saint from Bruny Island... ahhhhhh oohhhhhh I heart this cheese.

7 May - Thit Kho (Vietnamese braised pork belly)

One of our all time favourite dishes. Pork belly, sweet soy, loads of sugar and the eggs, oh, my, the eggs are the bestest thing in the whole wide world!

6 May - Osso Bucco Ragu Pasta

An altered recipe from Genaro Contaldo's Ragu alla Napoletana, we only used osso bucco this time, but if you can, you should definitely use pork sausages, ribs and topside...

5 May - Vegie & Smoked Ham Hock Soup

When its Winter, what's better than a wonderful warm soup like vegetables and smoked ham hock?
I love ham hock and all its gelatinous gooey meatiness. Not very many things make as happy as eating ham hock fallen off the bone.

Happiness.
