15 October - Sui Mai with Noodles

So... the teaser I left for you yesterday was we were gonna have sui mai, or steamed pork dumplings, for dinner tonight. And TADAH! Here they are.

Beautiful little babies aren't they?

Well.... these are THE.BESTEST.MOST.AWESOME.DUMPLINGS.EVER!

And that's no exaggeration ;Þ

And into our bowls of noodles and soup (not very traditional, but what the hey, it all works)


It's a shame that nobody else got to try how bloody awesome these morsels were.

Made with a mix of pork mince, diced pork belly, shitake mushrooms, "cloud ear" fungus, water chestnuts, onions and garlic.... and boy oh boy, the combination nearly blew my mind how good it all tasted together.

Meanwhile, you can only look on with envy.
