30 August - Fish & Prawn Fajitas

something simple and quick to put together but hits you like a flavour-bomb!

Salsa, grated tasty, yoghurt, fish and prawns

The assembly...

Let's welcome the FISH!
Snapper...

Everybody let's SALSA!
(cucumber, tomato, red onion, yellow capsicum, garlic, parsley, white balsamic, olive oil and lemon juice)

28 August - Baked Pasta Shells

So anyway.... the lil sister cooked tonight, which is a pleasant change and it was dognabbitly good!

Baked giant shells with a bolognaise type sauce, and cavalo nero and garlick yoghurt.

Delish!

26 August - Baked Potatoes, Coleslaw, Speck & Garlick Yoghurt

We love spuds and we especially love spuds done like this!

Soooo... I don't want to brag but I will anyway...
That delicious slaw was all completely hand chopped by yours truly, and what superb knife skills even if I do say so myself...

So what have we here? Well, baked spud, with dollop of garlicky yoghurt, sprinkle of tasty cheese and crispy speck with yummy carrot, savoy cabbage and onion slaw

And when people come back from Sydney these days, the fashion is to bring back some Zumbo cakes, but not my awesome housemate.
Awesome housemate brings back a home made cake that some cute little old lady made....

So here we have an orange poppy seed cake, that wasn't very orangey nor very poppy seed full... but was nonetheless, quite a tasty cake. Even if it wasn't Zumobo's....

Slow roasted pork belly with salsa verde and beetroot, spinach and walnut salad.

Velly velly good belly

Cute eh?
This was how the bill arrived

24 August - Baked Squid with Crab Stuffing

This was the squid promised to us last night... and it was nomnomnomnomnom good

And a treat, cos that's how we roll...
STRAWBERRIES & CREAM!

23 August - Pasta with Chorizo and Tomato Sauce

What do you do when someone says they will cook and then doesn't?
AND they have all the food??

Let's just say... Housemate, I'm disappointed in you, you got all our hopes up and then abandoned us with no food!

Having been stuck in the most horrendous traffic that I could remember in a long long while, taking us 2 hours to get home by CAR! By the time we got home we were starved.

So we made do with this instead of the scrumptious stuffed squid we were promised...

Concept of idea with the miniscule of ingredients available at whim = 1min
From conception to food on table = 30mins
From table to food in tummy.... 5mins

22 August - Boiled Pork Dumplings with Fried Rice

Same dumplings, boiled not fried

Fried rice with chinese pickles, chinese sausage, egg and home made XO sauce (someone else's home, not mine...)
