Sashimi & Soba Noodles

Make no mistake, I love noodles.
Most kinds of noodles... such a versatile food, so many varieties and so many ways to cook and enjoy them.

Anyhoos... we had some fresh fish from the market so the best way to enjoy fresh fish is to do what the Japanese do best: Sashimi.

Yum. Oh.

Shimeji mushrooms, just stirfried to bring out its own natural flavours

The main characters: swordfish, salmon and tuna

And here they are again, photo hogs

Oh hello lovely noodles! Fancy seeing you here... oh how I do adore you :)

(oh, and that's friend crispy salmon skin, cos you cannot let that kind of stuff go to waste!)

Bun Thit Nuong - or rice vermicelli with grilled pork

Awesome housemate wasn't gonna be home for dinner, but she prepared this for our dinner anyway because that's just the kind of awesome person she is.

And of course, you cannot have vietnamese food without plenty of herbs and fresh salad

Remember that fig from a few days ago?
HERE IT IS! Put to good use, and it was fantastic

Beancurd skin rolls

Make beancurd wrapped rolls, attempt 1: Successful!

These divine beancurd skins, wrapped around House of Awesome Food-styled pork mince, served with a satay sauce, some rice and some lightly flavoured wombok. Because the flavours are so strong, you really only want light clean flavours to match this.

Lightly stir fried wombok with a sprinkle of chilli flakes.

Looks great eh?
Tasted even better than it looks!

Oh, just randomly, I received these stunning little gifts from a colleague. Pretty ain't they?
Black skinned capsicum, with a wonderful little fig.

Beef Fajitas

A reliably quick meal, from a trusty old recipe (goold ol' El Paco!)

And throw in a few extra ingredients we had left over in the fridge that just *had* to be cooked and eaten.. *Ahem* that means you, Mr Crab and Silly Chorizo Sausage...

Manchego cheese, grated. Avocado and capsicum salsa

Well there, my friend! You look mighty tasty!

Chorizo and tomatoes = awesome tapas
