30 November 2011 - Stir Fried Seafood Balls & MockDuck

Tonight we wanted a really quick dinner. A really really quick dinner!

A variety of seafood balls (lobster, crab, fish, tofu, and something marshmallowy with meat)

Stir fried seafood balls, egg tofu and mock duck (or vegetarian duck)

Doesn't really taste like duck, but it looks like duck and it sure tastes good!

Moroccan Quinoa Salad & Vietnamese Stuffed Tomatoes.

We are going through a fusion trend... of sorts.

=)

28 November 2011 - Cold Soba Noodles with Chicken & Mushrooms

Again, lazy night cos we all got home a little bit late today...

Oh, and our new aquisition - The purple plate/bowl thing. This one might get a feature in a few more photos I reckon...

Cold soba, stiry fried chicken with mushroom and enoki, and self invented soba dipping sauce

27 November 2011 - Thai Red Chicken Curry

And by this time of the week we're pretty wrecked, funny isn't it? Sunday should mean we're all well-rested but nope. We're wrecked.

So the best thing to do is to keep it simple and make something quick to eat.

Thai red curry, with chicken, fried tofu, vegies and hokkien noodles garnished with a potato rosti (it was leftover from yesterday)

Fried egg white cut into strips (leftovers from yesterday also...)

And this is how we eat EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT!

26 November 2011, Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

So, Thursday and Friday we ate out and didn't make anything so let's skip ahead to Saturday where we more than made up for it and cooked all three meals for the day!

Cos really, what else is there to do when it is bucketing down outside?

Breakfast.
Poached egg (cheat's way), bacon, potato fritter, grilled tomato and holladaise sauce

Check out the awesomely poached egg!

What a pleasant way to start the day...

Lunch was a beef hash with carrots and celery on toasted turkish bread

It really needs to be tasted, very very drool-worthy

Afternoon tea was green tea with an assortment of cupcakes and danish biscuits.
And no, in case you were wondering... we didn't make afternoon tea, these were store bought and gifts...
So what do we have there? Well, pandan cupcake, cloud nine, lemon meringue and malteser, whilst the biscuits were a gift from a house guest, they are dutch biscuits called 'Stroopwafels'

*drools*

Dinner: stiry fried chicken in a ginger, garlic and oyster sauce with leftover vegies.

And roasted honey mustard carrots with roasted cauliflower and parmesan and baked garlicky mushrooms
*yumss*

And cassava cake... yep, I don't know what a cassava is either but it darn taste good in a cake!

Especially drizzled with condensed milk!

Free Form Vegetable Lasagne

When you get home late... and there's not a lot of food left in the fridge, what do you do?

Make a quick and easy lasagne with left over vegies, and this is what it turned out like...

Not bad eh?
fresh out of the oven, ahhh
if only you could smell it!

Goodness it was yum!
It was so yum I was disallowed to have seconds for fear that I would not know when to stop...  :(

22 November 2011 - Pork Chops, Ginger & Orange Sauce with Cavalo Nero

So T decides to try out this new vegetable she saw at the market... it was labelled "Tuscan Cabbage" and none of us had ever heard of it before although it did look very familiar to me...

Anyway, afterwards I had to google it and turns out, "Tuscan Cabbage" is actually Cavalo Nero, or sometimes known as Kale... but Cavalo Nero I DO know!

Boy, what a wonderful vegetable. We loved it very much here!

But yeah, anyway we had extra pork chops from last night so because it was so darn awesome, we cooked the same pork chops tonight as well. I actually think it was better tonight because the meat got to marinade for an extra day for EXTRA flavour!

Earl grey pannacotta, with some dodgy looking viet mint
But delicious. Perfect everything, nice work sister!

Just when I thought the pannacotta was already perfect, the sister adds a touch more perfection to this.
Can you believe it can possibly be even more perfect? No?
Well, how's about adding chocolate coated coffee beans? Yeah? YEAH!
*DROOLS thinking about it*

Oh and this was lunch for Wednesday... zucchini slice...
Words cannot explain how bloody delish this dish was...

Here's a close up.
Zucchini slice, with beetroot salad and yoghurt

*sigh*
sooooo good

lunch packed.

21 November 2011 - Pork Chops in Orange & Ginger Sauce

We like this one.

Vegie open pastie
Carrots, sweet potato, zucchini, peas and king oyster mushrooms with cheddar and feta, and some leftover breadcrumbs sprinkled on top

Hehe, this pastie looks a lot like a chicken all spread-eagled...
I'm gonna call this dish "Mock Chicken"

20 November 2011 - Pot Luck Leftovers

Leftovers again? twice in less than a week, how dreadful....
except, if you ate leftovers like we do, then it ain't dreadful at all!

Check this out!

The bean salad we forgot to eat last night...

Chicken mince and tofu

Tomato soup from noodle night, felafels from pot luck, jerk chicken from pot luck, braised tofu and stuffed chinese doughnuts and stuffed peppers from mum and dad, and the most divine rice paper rolls in the world!

oh, add pandan crepe rolls with coconut

= complete satisfaction

19 November 2011 - Saturday Night Pot Luck

Lu had a few friends over for a pot luck/ mini house warming party (I think this is the way we're gonna be going about it... individual house warming parties)

Anyways, back to the food. This was the spread!

Looks good eh?
So what is it you ask?
Well, it's a rice paper roll with prawn, mango, caviar and kewpie sauce and it was DELISH!

Here we go with the wrapping...
Wrapping of the most awesome parcel of flavours.

And here is another parcel ready to be wrapped, oh yeah we are in the wrapping mode tonight!
Sweetened coconut filling, pandan crepe
The flavours of my heart and soul *Sigh*

And here are the finished product, a few dodgy looking ones but most of them turned out pretty darn good if we do say so ourselves :)
Oh, and forgot, we also made a salty coconut cream sauce to go with it.
*DROOLS*

The entire spread...
Fruit punch, mustache cookies, felafel balls 3 ways, jerk chicken, mango prawn rice paper rolls, pumpkin risotto, and pandan crepes.

Didn't make it in the photo include: Earl grey tea pannacotta (in the fridge), and bean salad (we just forgot about it cos there was so much food)

Up close and personal with the rice paper rolls.
Yum-ness

Jerk chicken, the most incredible flavours you can possibly imagine

Spinach and ricotta pie, tasty!

In honour of Movember, and since us ladies cannot grow one, someone made mustache cookies instead

A little bit here and a little bit there
Ricotta Spinach pie, jerk chicken, rice paper rolls, felafels with garlic yoghurt sauce (felafels of sweet potato, zucchini and carrot), and pumpkin risotto
