Wontons & Soup Noodles with Crispy Wonton Skins

Leftover wonton skins?
Not a problem, just pop it into the microwave et voila! CRISPY WONTON SKIN CHIPS!

So good for you too :)

ok, so the lighter coloured ones are microwaved ones, and the golden coloured ones are fried ones.
Both taste good, just that the tanner ones look better... but is harder to control cos you look away for 2 seconds and it gets burnt!

There! I put the burnt ones at the bottom of the pile ;)

Vego Week, Day 8: Stuffed Tofu with noodles

Public holiday today... and you know what? We didn't even go to the market to get our weekly groceries, so we're actually stuck with leftovers today...

And we're kinda half doing vego week again....

Yes, we know... this dish does actually contain meat... but only in small quantities!

Dry egg noodles, with Japanese curry... and the reason why the curry looks this weird colour is because we used purple carrots in it, and just like beetroot it tends to colour EVERYTHING in its path!

Oops, we forgot dinner *Gasp*

Actually, we didn't... we could NEVER forget dinner ;)

We all went to see a movie at Moonlight Cinema instead, and enjoyed a wonderful picnic dinner, but since the light was no good no pics were taken....

You just have to pretend you were there with us :)

Vego Week, Day 4: BBQ Pork Ribs & Stuffed Roasted Peppers

What?!
What do you mean "Ribs aren't a vegetable"?

Lol, okies so maybe we might have lapsed a bit on vego week.... but there is a perfectly good explanation for the eating of ribs today. I won't bore you with details, just know that it was oh so worth the lapse *licks lips*

Ya-hum! Gooey sticky bbq ribs *drools*

Peppers with stuffing

On the plate: stuffed peppers, sticky ribs and tuscan cabbage

Vego Week, Day 3: Pumpkin Risotto

I've been waiting to do this dish for weeks now!
It's bloody delicious, and so so so easy to do, thank you Masterchef  :)

I tells ya what, it was damn awesome even if I do say so myself.
Perfectly done risotto, from me to my tummy.

I was given these wonderfully cute little tomatoes.
They look like little armless, legless torsos lol
And they're only the size of Wanda!

tee hee hee, so adorable!

I liked the fat one :)

Vego Week, Day 2: Noodles with mixed mushrooms and tofu

Ok, let's see how we fare today...

Hokkien noodles, with enoki mushrooms.
Stirfried mixed mushrooms with fried tofu in mushroom XO sauce.

Again, these were just what was leftover in our fridge... so baby king oyster mushrooms, field mushrooms, fried firm tofu, red capsicum and a delicious mushroom XO sauce. A must-try in my books.

Vego Week, Day 1: Pasta Bake & Leftover Creme Caramel

We've decided to make this week the unofficial 'Vego Week" just because we girls of House of Awesome Food, simply consume much more meat than what our little bodies should be able to tolerate (and yet we do!)

So anyway, day 1 of Vego Week...

What happens when you don't got a lot of food left in the fridge and you still need dinner?
Order take-away?
Oh no no no no! Not in the House of Awesome Food!

We just make do...

No milk, no cream, no eggs and no tomato pasta bake with just cheese....
It worked out... ok...
But since there is no way to make pasta bake look good in photos, I've decided to put the focus on the dessert instead.

TADAH!
The perfect creme caramel, with caramel-y bits on top and fresh strawbs to garnish

Disclaimer: (no promises on how long this will last....)

Hainese Chicken & Creme Caramel

The only way to impress friends for dinner is something spectacular.

Our bastardised version of Hainese Chicken, is not at all traditional, but dang it taste damn fine!

Wonton appetisers, served in a clear chicken broth

The divine creme caramel

Oh yes, drool

Panfried cod & Crushed Potatoes

Fish and chip friday!

So we've done our own version of fish and chips... not strictly the stuff you get from shops, just better ;)

Crushed herby potatoes. The best ever invention in the whole wide universe. The end.

Fried octupus legs...
Didn't quite turn out how I wanted, but tasted alright. Especially teamed with last night's korean mayo

Panfried cod, korean mayo and herby lemony butter sauce

Korean-style pork belly burgers

LOVE.

Recommend.

Pork belly, herbs, sticky sauce.
Do yourself a favour and just do this.
You will not regret it, promise.

This will give you foodgasms, guaranteed! :Þ

So the components are: brioche bun, gochujang mayo, kimchi, roasted pork belly in herb sauce, pickled cucumbers

This makes so happy *wipes tear*

Lol
